Youth Program
Workshops That Educate and Unite
ISBL introduced its Youth Program in 2014, led by Program Director Azmera Hammouri-Davis. Workshops have been held at the schools below, with outreach continuing to many others.
ISBL’s goal is to reach youth through workshops and seminars in local schools that reinforce the importance of building a stronger and unified community. The program emphasizes academia, self-awareness, social acceptance and tolerance, character building, leadership development, and cultural and artistic enrichment.
These workshops are led by Melissa Shepherd, psychotherapist and professor, and Juanita Palacios-Sims, ISBL founder and youth mentor, with participation from other ISBL members.
